Carol began performing on the stairs of her mam’s house at the age of 7, when she set up a play post office and took on her first major role – Post Mistress. Quickly moving on to bigger stages with Baldoyle Musical Society and the Galaxy Players, Carol spent many years acting and dancing her little legs off at festivals up and down the country. When she turned her attention to directing and choreography, her work received many nominations and awards from both the Association of Irish Musical Societies and the Northern Ireland Festival of Light Opera.

Alongside establishing Song and Dance Stage School in 1996, Carol and Jimmy have continued to work together as a director/choreographer team, creating fabled productions of musicals and plays for The Gas Company Musical Society, Portmarnock MS, O’Connell’s MS, Kill MS, Avonmore MS, Gorey Musical Society, and Coolmine MS, as well as long associations with several secondary in the Dublin area. Jimmy and Carol directed the Dublin and London workshops of Forkbeard and Olav: A Tale of Two Vikings, a new musical by Nancy Jenster.

After 25 years of running Song and Dance, Carol is yet to tire of helping young people discover the joy she first felt at her childhood dance classes. ‘It keeps the sparkle in my life,’ she says. And as anyone who’s met Carol will know, she LOVES sparkle!
