Gemma became a Song and Dance kid at the age of 4. When she picked up the technique of a tap shuffle after just two classes – a memory she still holds dear – we knew we had a talented dancer on our hands.
Over the years, Gemma has progressed from a shy kid, to a budding dance assistant at 13, to a choreographer and dance teacher. She has also had stints in the Olympia panto and as a cheerleader at international competition level.
She credits teaching at Song and Dance as a teenager with fostering her ambition to be a school teacher, and she has worked extremely hard over the last number of years to obtain her B.Sc. in Childhood and Early Education. She is currently preparing for her Masters in Primary School teaching.
Teaching at Song and Dance is a highlight of Gemma’s week – she loves having the chats with all the kids and making sure everyone is comfortable to be themselves in her class.
