Rachel trained at Song and Dance and Dublin Ballet School and holds a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies from Trinity College, Dublin where she had a special interest in drama in the community and young people’s drama. She is one of the first graduates of The Lir Academy, from which she earned a B. Histr. (First Class) in Acting.
She has worked as a Director/Choreographer with schools, youth theatres and societies all over Dublin and in 2010 was nominated for Best Director at the Association of Irish Musical Societies Awards for Les Miserables.
Since completing actor training in 2014, Rachel has had a busy career in Irish theatre and film, appearing at the Abbey and Gate Theatres among others, and at Sundance Film Festival, and the Dublin International Film Festival. In 2019, she was nominated for Best Actress at the Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards. Having worked with and learned from many acclaimed stars of stage and screen, she loves incorporating her experiences into her teaching practice.
Rachel began teaching at Song and Dance when she was 16. She’ll always come back because she owes her life and career to her first teachers – Carol, Jimmy, Lil McDermott and Ger Nolan, and she wants to be that positive force in the lives of the next generations.
